Healthy alternative for sandwhiches?
If you're looking for a healthy bread, go with with a 9 or 12 grain, with low sugars. If you are willing to skip bread, then you can use either a low carb tortilla or large piece of romaine, iceberg or cabbage to wrap it up. We have also substituted a couple thick slices of jicama for bread. For the toppings, select healthy/hearty toppings such as Lite havarti cheese, arugula, avocado, honey mustard and turkey. You can also smear on some fat free or low fat veggie cream cheese in place of the cheese. Skip the mayo unless you go with a veganaise, and drizzle with a little balsamic.
