What are hot link sausages wrapped in? what's your favorite way to eat hot links?

This is my first time cooking hotlinks, and they are wrapped in plastic..so I take off the plastic for cooking right...and what type of condiments go good with it....should I eat them like hotdogs, or by themselves, and what condiments go good with them
