Can the Korean condiment "kimchee" be made at home? Does anyone have a recipe?

I've searched in vain for a recipe that doesn't involve burying it in a crock in my garden. Help! On the other hand, can it be purchased commercially in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area? Thanks for any help you are able to supply.
